As outwardly beautiful as the community is, there is much work to be done in Nain, Labrador. TrueNorthAid’s main focus right now is to build a community center that will house various programs such as addictions counseling and food distribution, and also for the young people, to simply be a safe and fun alternative to the  streets. TrueNorthAid has formed a partnership with Shining Light Ministries’ missionaries, Ray & Juanita Whalen, who are an amazing couple that have fallen in love with the Inuit community in Labrador and have dedicated their lives to seeing a drastic improvement to the community’s current condition.
