Founded in Saskatchewan in 2017 as Moon Time Sisters, Moon Time Connections has grown to include four chapters – in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia – and has partnered with over 120 northern Indigenous Communities in all provinces and territories from BC to Labrador and has shipped over 4 million period products to high schools, elementary schools, midwifery organizations, health care centres, Friendship Centres, shelters, food banks and community programs in remote areas from coast to coast to coast.

Our Story

Moon Time Sisters was founded in 2017 by Nicole White, a Métis woman from Saskatchewan, when she learned students in remote areas of the province were missing school during their Moon Times due to a lack of access to menstrual products.

Nicole took action, and from a simple donation of pads to a Community in Saskatchewan, Moon Time Sisters was born. The MTS Ontario Chapter was founded by Veronica Brown in early 2017 once she learned of Nicole’s work in Saskatchewan.

Neha Menon founded the third and most western Chapter in BC in October of 2020, and soon after, our latest Chapter was formed in Manitoba by Janessa Roy in May of 2021.

Together, we continue the tireless work that has grown Moon Time Sisters into Moon Time Connections; the only national organization that supports Indigenous menstruators and works towards period equity in northern communities from coast to coast to coast.
